Public Service & Economic Leadership (BS)

Overview

Public Service and Economic Leadership is an interdisciplinary degree that provides a strong foundation in political science and economics, while offering specialized tracks in political economy, legal studies, environment and research, and culture and social science. Students enrolled in the program will gain a multifaceted understanding of the political and economic dimensions of public service. Through their course study and hands-on experiences, students will develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills, that will serve them well in the public or private sector, as well as more advanced graduate studies. The unique interdisciplinary, liberal arts learning environment of Science & Arts will help students appreciate that good public services are based on an overall understanding of how peoples’ needs and desires connect with the political, economic, and social systems that surround them.
