ECON 4013 Environmental Economics
This course explores the critical challenge of aligning human economic activity with the ecological limits of our planet. This course reviews the essential changes to our environment that need to be addressed via the careful evaluation and adaptation of our economic approaches. Students are presented with economic theory that integrates the environment into Neoclassical market-based theory, institutional approaches that begin with how societies assign rights to natural resources in the first place, game theory applications to collective action problems, and engagement with simulations of complex change in natural systems. This course is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in environmental economics and equip them with the knowledge and skills to contribute to a more sustainable future.
