4. Hearing Deliberations and Decision
The conduct officer/decision maker(s) will deliberate and determine whether it is more likely than not that a violation(s) of the Student Code of Conduct did or did not occur as alleged.
- The conduct officer/decision maker(s) may find that the information presented was not sufficient to establish that a violation of the Student Code of Conduct was committed and dismiss the case.
- The conduct officer/decision maker(s) may find that the information presented was sufficient to affirm the alleged violations and impose a sanction appropriate for the violation(s).
The decision of the conduct officer/decision maker(s) will be communicated in writing to the respondent and, if appropriate, the complainant within two days. The notification letter will include findings of fact, sanction(s) imposed (if any), and the rationale for the decision. The notification letter will be delivered in person, sent electronically to the institutional or personal email address, or sent by certified mail to the student’s last known address of record as filed with the Registrar’s Office. The notification letter may also be picked up in the Dean of Students office within two days of the hearing.
