THTR 3423 Principles of Design
An introduction to the theatrical design process through a study of the principles inherent in the various visual arts and the translation of text to live production. Included is an introduction to script analysis from the perspective of the designer and a general introduction to the history of architecture and/or dress, décor, and theatrical practices. Areas of emphasis will vary: scenery, costumes, make-up, lighting, sound, and multimedia. (may be repeated)
