PRLG 3203 The Idea of God from an Inter-Religious Perspective

This course will expose students to a variety of contemporary ideas regarding the object of religious faith from multiple religious traditions. In particular, ideas regarding the divine from Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Native American thought, and western atheism will be emphasized. The course will focus on the ways in which the divine is conceptualized, and how this conceptualization is related to ethical, social, political, and philosophical concerns. Students will be encouraged to develop their own "theology" in relation to the multiple theologies encountered within the class.
