Procedures for Appealing a Committee’s Determination that an Issue is not Grievable.

If the Grievance Committee determines that the issue is not grievable then the Grievant may appeal this decision to the Vice President for Student Success and Human Resources. The appeal must be made within fifteen (15) working days of the date of the decision of the Grievance Committee, in accordance with the procedures below.

To appeal a Committee’s determination that an issue is not grievable under this policy, a Grievant must submit a written appeal request to the Dean of Students. This written appeal request must state the Grievant’s basis for appealing the Committee’s determination. The Dean of Students will then submit the appeal to the Vice President for Student Success and Human Resources who will notify the Dean of Students in writing of the decision within thirty (30) working days of its receipt of the appeal. The Dean of Students will notify the Grievant and Respondent of the decision in writing. The decision of the Vice President for Student Success and Human Resources is final. If the Vice President for Student Success and Human Resources reverses the Committee’s determination, the grievance will proceed to a Grievance Hearing in accordance with the procedures described above.
