Emergency Notification Protocol

Drover Alert is Science & Arts 's emergency notification system. All students, faculty and staff are automatically entered into the Drover Alert program for emergency notifications upon enrollment or employment. This program allows Science & Arts to send Short Message Service (SMS) text messages (a cost may be applied by individual cell telephone providers), e-mails, and voice messages informing the community of vital information. Alerts are issued upon unplanned campus closures for weather related emergencies or confirmation of a serious threat or dangerous situation which threatens the safety of Science & Arts students, faculty, or staff. Drover Alerts may only be withheld if these alerts would compromise efforts to contain the emergency. Students, faculty, and staff are strongly encouraged to check and verify their preferred and alternate phone numbers and alternate email address on a regular basis.
