Pre-Pharmacy

Overview

The pre-pharmacy curriculum is designed to fulfill the requirements of the student who wishes to obtain a degree in pharmacy from the University of Oklahoma or Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Pre-professional programs do not result in a bachelor’s degree and are not eligible for federal student aid. Students interested in pre-professional programs may want to declare a major that aligns with the coursework that will prepare them for their professional program. Although the student may choose any program of study for a major, most pre-pharmacy students choose either a biology or chemistry major. These two majors provide the best preparation for the PCAT (Pharmacy College Admission Test).
